6 Years Later

We have been matched with a child in Haiti!!!!!
March 13, 2021

I haven’t updated or posted anything on this blog until this last month. There has been much that has happened in our lives but not much has happened for our adoption in Haiti. SO, there hasn’t been much to write! But that has all changed!!! This past June (2020), we got the phone call that we weren’t sure we would ever get. We had finally been matched with a child to adopt in Haiti!!!!!!! I sat down and cried. It didn’t seem real. It had been six years since we had started this process and we couldn’t know when or if the call would come, so when it did we were completely surprised. It took a couple weeks before we would get the details. When we finally did, we found out we were matched with an 18 month old boy (who is now 2).

Over the coming weeks I will try to share the details of what has happened since June 2020. For now, just know that there are happenings again so there is a need for this blog again. It is the most central way that we can keep everyone informed and keep you in the prayer loop! If you haven’t already, please enter your email to follow our site in the box that is in the margin to the right. This way when there is an update or prayer request you will get notified of it right away in your email inbox.

Thank you all so much for your many prayers and care for our family all these years. You have been God’s love poured out on us and we are so blessed because of it.

Muffin Monday Wrap-Up

Our final Muffin Monday was a whirlwind and great success!!  It was exciting to see so many of you out in the rain to support us!  We finished off with all our muffin flavors, joyful hello’s, and quick good-byes (so you could get out of the rain!)  We did get our cover up quickly though and were able to keep everyone and everything dry.

We sold all but 18 muffins, which were donated to a precious family.  Our sons really wanted to reach a particular number that day, so they donated from their own earnings. We continue to be encouraged by the generosity and faith of our children!!  Our final Muffin Monday for 2017 raised…

$400.00!!

Our total amount raised for 2017….

$1328.93!!!!!!

Just what we need!!!

Whew! It’s always a whirlwind during muffin season in our house but it’s fantastic and we’re ready for some rest when it’s finished. 😉 Each year you all amaze us with your generosity, prayers, continued support, coming each week, and your excitement for helping us adopt through our muffins.  You need to know that each year you help us raise enough money to cover our USCIS (United States Citizenship & Immigration Services) approval, which costs $1300-$1600 per year!!!!  (The amount changes due to different requirements for different years. It’s complicated, but I will be explaining it all soon.)  Since 2017 is the 3rd year we will be renewing our approval, that means you have supported us to cover over $4000.00 in fees!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so very, very much for being instruments of the Lord as He provides all we need!!!

RAIN or SHINE – Last Chance for Muffins!!!!!

IMG_6835

Hey Everybody!!!  Well last Monday was another great success!! We sold all our muffins and raised over $400!!!!  Amazing isn’t it?  God gives and idea to two young boys excited about adopting brothers and/or sisters.  Then He uses all of you to provide support, encouragement, and prayers.  Just from warm, homemade muffins!  God works in many ways and many of them are not obvious to us.  May we all see the little ways that God is working in our lives each day.

This Monday, May 22nd, is our last Muffin Monday for this year!

Since the last Monday in May is Memorial Day and many of you are out of town, hosting family, or sleeping in since there isn’t any work or school, we have found that we don’t see many of you on Memorial Day.  Therefore, tomorrow will be the last Monday that we are selling muffins in 2017.  No matter the weather we’ll be out selling our muffins and would really enjoy seeing you too!  Last year we sold out in the pouring rain so let’s see if we can do it again!!!  There will be an awning so your muffins will stay warm & dry! 😉

“Limited Edition” Muffin Flavors for May 15th!!!!

Thank you so very, very much for your prayers and support!  Each year we are always amazed at how God works and the wonderful people we get to meet.  This year, God used our first week of selling muffins to provide breakfast for the Homeless Shelter.  On our second week, He provided for our adoption…

For the first time ever we sold out in…

36 minutes!!!!!!

And we raised…

$354.00!!!!

It was so exciting and we were shocked!  We were also sad to turn everyone else away but that won’t happen this week!  We’ve been busy all week so we won’t run out.  As long as you keep coming, we’ll keep baking!  No one will be turned away this week!!!  But it would be fun to see you all try and buy us out because really we are bringing A LOT of muffins to bake for you.  So come on over and pick up muffins for your whole office or your children’s classroom!

Muffin Flavors for May 8th!

Hey Everybody!

Thanks to all of you who came out in the wild Wyoming weather to get muffins last week!!  We sold nearly 100 muffins and raised…

$155.04!!

Now, for those of you who have followed and supported our Muffin Mondays in May for the last 4 years you will notice that these are smaller numbers for us.  As always though God has a great plan!! With the extra muffins we had, we were able to provide the VOA Homeless Shelter with enough muffins to serve breakfast to the 20+ residents!!! Much of the food that the shelter needs to feed their residents is donated and it was truly a blessing to us to give in such a small way but it was so greatly appreciated by them.  See God is our provider, everyone’s provider!!!!  God provides in ways that we cannot always see or even understand; His great love for us deeper, wider, larger, and greater than we can  ever imagine!!

I wish I could say I had great pictures to show you from our first Muffin Monday this year but the changing weather kept us on our toes and our fingers stiff from the cold so no pictures this time!  Now let’s get to the yummy part of this post…flavors for this week!!! But first…

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!!!!

Tomorrow is our oldest sons birthday and he wants to celebrate and share with all of you.  To do that, he is giving away a free muffin of choice to anyone who is also having a birthday tomorrow!!! So if you or someone you know and love is having a birthday tomorrow make sure they come get a muffin and maybe even a birthday song!

Muffin Mondays in May are Back!!!

Boy it has been so long since I have made post but this is a fun one to make~

Our 4th annual adoption fundraiser, Muffin Mondays in May, begins tomorrow!!!!

Starting tomorrow, May 1st from 7am – 9am, we will be out in the Calvary Baptist Church parking lot selling warm, freshly baked muffins for donations.  It’s a delicious start to your day and we quickly serve you the muffins of your choice so you can enjoy them on the way to school or work.  You can even buy a box to take to your child’s classroom or take to work.  For those of you who are new to our sight here’s the scoop as to why I, along with our 3 sons, get up at 3 am to bake muffins.

We are adopting one or two children from Haiti.  It will cost $47,000 to over $60,000 to do this and that is cash we just don’t have.  So we do fundraisers along with saving money and applying for grants.  While it is daunting in many more aspects than just the finances, God has called us and we are trusting HIM and obeying HIM.  Later this week I will be posting about our last year (Since it’s been that long sine I have posted! ;-)), the status of our Haiti adoption, along with an update on our son that we adopted from within the US 19 months ago.  Also later this month, I will be explaining in more detail why it costs so much to adopt and where the money goes.  Until then here is the yumminess we will be serving to our community tomorrow morning!!

Final Muffin Tally

Again we are amazed at what God does with the idea of two young brothers, muffins, and a caring community!!  This year we made 743 muffins and sold almost all of them!! We weren’t even sure if it would be possible for us to get these muffins made this year and our Heavenly Father already knew He had made a way.

As always we enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones too.  We are tired and ready for a bit of rest but already our minds are planning new flavors for next year! 😉  Thank you so much to all of you, near and far, who made this year such a fantastic success!!!!  You helped us to raise…

$1830.29…

one muffin at a time!!!!!!  Can you believe it?!?!  I am surprised and humbled every year at the outpouring of your support.  My heart overflows at the thought of our sons; who had this idea one morning over breakfast as a way to raise funds to adopt their baby brother (who is now home with us & more on the way)!!!  God has done a mighty work not just bringing the funds needed for our adoptions but in our family, in our time together, getting to serve you each Monday morning, delivering muffins to those in need, opening up adoption communication, connecting personally, and so very much more.  Thank you for being a part of incredible memories and the wonderful work God is doing!  Blessings to all of you!!!!

See you next year!

Singing in the Rain & Selling out Again

So for the first time in our 3 years of doing Muffin Mondays in May, it actually rained.

We had an awning that a kept us all dry and even kept the wonderful smells of muffins inside. It was so fantastic to have your support…even in the rain!! I was sure we would sell a lot less but instead we sold out!!!  Thank you!!  Your support has come at a perfect time with our Haiti adoption coming sooner than anticipated.  Our greatest joy of this past Muffin Monday was God bringing the rain.  You may think I’m crazy but truly it was the best, for a very specific reason.  My best friend, greatest supporter, & love of my life was with us for the very first time!!!!!!

The boys and I were thrilled to have Daddy with us for the first time!!!

Usually work keeps Daddy busy and he only gets to stop in to say hi; and maybe grab a muffin…if they haven’t sold out!  Since our business is working outside, Ryan wasn’t able to work so he came to be with us! You see God bringing the rain, meant God bringing my husband to be with us…my greatest joy!

This is our last Muffin Monday coming up!!!  We will not be selling Muffins on Memorial Day.  Here are the flavors that got the most requests & biggest reviews that we will be serving on Monday.  We are making the most muffins yet, so please come help us sell out with a bang this year!!!

It was another amazing morning today!! It was supposed to rain but God kept away the rain and brought plentiful sunshine!  We got to see so many wonderful people today, make a special delivery, and donate the left over muffins (there were only 7!!) to a widowed gentleman.  Now that is a glorious day!!

My busy baking friends had made even more muffins this week and we sold nearly all of them!! Thank you so much for supporting us each week!!!!!  We also appreciate your feedback on flavors; it helps to know what you like, what we’re doing well, and where we can improve.  On May 23rd (the fourth Monday in May), our flavors will be fan favorites so be sure to message us so we can make your favorite!  We will have a couple more new flavors for next week that we will reveal in a few days so stay tuned…
